Memorial Day

Memorial Day started out with everyone's favorite: cleaning! Then it was time for some fun. Ken took Mark and Abbie over to Grandma's house to play a new game, St. Petersburg. Spencer was supposed to be taking a nap and Jessie and I worked on making her some pajama pants.

We didn't to too badly for someone who kind of pretends she knows how to sew. The first pair turned out great and the second pair, well let's just say they are wearable, but we learned a few things. When all was said and done, Jessie was thrilled and wanted to wear a pair to the family BBQ to show them off, so that made to totally worth it. Here Jessie's threading the elastic through. The BBQ at Ken's parents was terrific! Afterwards we had FHE. Ken's dad gave an excellent lesson on the power that remembering brings to us. So the next time you're up for a little gospel study check the Topical Guide and go through some of the scriptures that talk about remembering, very interesting and a great discussion.

Our family was in charge of the activity for FHE and my kids had decided on a game of kick ball. So we all drove down to Centennial Park for our game.

Jennie and Jessie were team captains and team were as follows: Kyle, Jennie, Megan, Mark, Steph and McKay; Ken, me, Jessie, Abbie and Spencer, Scott, Grandma and Grandpa.
The "other" team had a little team huddle until Grandpa tried to get in on their plans...

Ken rounding third base.
Randy's foot was hurting so he was the catcher for a while and also pitched a little.
Abbie LOVES being with Uncle Scott. They were in the outfield together. Isn't this picture sweet!

Spencer was "here....here....here....everywhere!"
Mark loved sliding to the bases.
Jessie was very intent on the game can you tell? This is her as our third baseman.

Don't you love the fun family memories. Afterwards we decided the score was 12 to 88 and each team had the 88.

Then we headed over to the cemetery to visit Brian's grave. I should really take my kids over there more often. It was so beautiful and peaceful.
