The kids took advantage of all the snow we got while I was in the hospital with Emma. And it’s a good thing too because we only got about three snows total this winter….almost none and none that stayed for too many days. Ken helped Spencer build a snowman in the front yard and Abbie a snowman in the back yard. I love them both!
After that it was time for “war” and Mark was so excited to have someone to play with. Neil and Isaac were also cautioned not to use the yellow snow compliments of the deer that come to eat the old apples off our tree at night.
We made a little bow for Emma to wear, but it kept falling off.
That weekend Ken and I went on a little date…well we went computer shopping together….that counts as a date, right? Anyway, after we got the new computer home Jessie helped the kids turn the box into a rocket ship. Neil and Isaac were little enough to squeeze in the little door and Spencer smashed himself inside after a considerable amount of squeezing. The kids colored and played in it ALL weekend long.
The only problem was that by the end of the weekend we decided to take the computer back having discovered that it wasn’t working quite right and had actually already been bought and returned and then resold to us. Stink! So we disassembled the rocket, and taped the box back together where the door and windows had been cut and repackaged the computer. I personally think the people at the computer store should have paid us for entertaining them with our creativity, but they were hesitant in even letting us return it with the decorated box. Annoying, but Ken got them to take it. So it was another two or three weeks before we got another new computer…and besides trying to learn Windows 8, it has been great.
After Emma was born we were blessed to have dinners brought in by so many kind people from our new ward. It was so wonderful and we felt so loved. Thank you! We enjoyed dinner at Grandma’s on Sunday and tried to get a family picture…ah what fun!
Randy was very excited to hold little Emma too. Ken’s first day back at work and Neil showed me how he could put on his shirt all by himself while I was feeding Emma. Growing up is so fun!
It’s always fun to go looking for the kids and find that they are quietly entertaining themselves instead of getting into things. Isaac trying to put together his own marble run and Neil playing with trucks up on Spencer’s bed.
My two silly boys LOVE to lay by Emma, whether she’s getting a diaper change or just sleeping on the couch.
And don’t forget the kisses. That’s the second best thing to laying next to her!
Here’s my picture of Emma in her owl hat. Our sweet friend made us this yummy cake with surprise pink swirls inside for having a little girl. It turned out so COOL!
When Emma was eight days old, she and the boys and I ventured out for the first time together. Neil and Isaac are so good to hold each others hands in the parking lot while I carry the car seat and hold one of their loose hands. We sure are a wide, but happy, load!
Emma is such a quiet baby! And she smiles in her sleep ALL THE TIME! It is so stinking cute.
One night we were looking for something fun to do before bed and decided to try playing Bocce Ball in the living room. We put pillows around the bottoms of the wood furniture so it wouldn’t get dented by the balls and had a pretty fun time…until we realized that certain children were just too tired to be happy and so we cut the game short and went to bed. But definitely something we’ll do again! Reading together.
Even though we didn’t go to church Emma and I dressed in Sunday clothes so we could feel a part of the Sabbath Day. Cute sisters!
Rachel and Becca came down in the evening and Rachel started making funny masks with Spencer’s Christmas present and soon everyone had joined her. Aunts are the best!
