My mom took Jessie, Mark and Abbie up to the Woodward reunion in Idaho. Here are a few pictures from their adventure.
Uncle Scott came over and helped Ken cut down the half dead aspen tree from the front flower bed. Spencer was so excited that he got to help too! The little boys sat on the porch the whole time watching.
I just love happening on the kids when they’re reading to each other. It melts my heart. Spencer’s reading Jumanji to Neil. Neil loves LONG books – he’s so funny that way.
Another bucket list thing from this summer was “play a new game.” Jennie and Megan taught Mark and Jessie a new card game at a sleepover and Grandma Payne came over to learn too.
Neil “played” too, just not with the rest of us…..he loves Grandma’s iphone – feeding some monsters and giving Santa haircuts.
Jessie is so awesome! She made up a SPY kit for Abbie and Spencer and one of Spencer’s coupons in the kit was for a disguise and this was the western cowboy look she did on him. They added a leather hat and a bandana around his neck and was pretty impressive.
Neil got a mustache too…..so silly!
We sent some of our favorite ‘Bear Wants More’ books my sister and her cute girls and included some pictures for her fridge. Spencer’s picture of Bear eating strawberries turned out amazing!
Here’s the cards from my summer stamp day. I really love the butterfly one and the bright and happy orange flower one.
While Grandma was out visiting she couldn’t resist the baby chicks at IFA and came home with three chicks and a turkey. The kids were so excited to hold them. They lived in our downstairs bathroom for a couple of weeks….that was….smelly. :-)
Abbie’s wanted curls for the 24th and Neil had to join in the fun!
And Isaac was made about something. Sometimes watching little kids be mad is so funny.
We had a BBQ at Paynes for lunch. YUMMY!
For our 24th celebration Rachel made us this awesome watermelon “sand bucket” with all sorts of ocean creatures.
Abbie and Jessie helped me decorate the star sugar cookies.
Jessie was all over the face painting and before the day was over almost everyone had joined in.
Along with dinner we played some Hobbes Ball, Bocchi Ball, with the stilts, had some arm wrestling and other general fun.
Before we headed down to Spanish Fork for the fireworks we did some sparklers here. Some people writing names, hearts, stars and Harry Potter symbols, (deathly hallows symbol – the circle, triangle, line).
And we tried making glow in the dark shapes by breaking open a glow stick. But I can’t remember much more than that. For whatever reason, I think only Abbie ended up doing the glowstick thing.
Then we headed down to the fireworks show. We got a row front seat and decked ourselves out in glowsticks while we waited.
And here’s a fun new things we’ve tried. When we make german pancakes I’ve started slicing up a couple of apples and putting them across the bottom of the pan after the butter has melted and then pour the egg mixture over the apples and bake it. The apples rise to the top while it bakes. It’s so yummy and much more filling than plain german pancakes.
