Abbie and Spencer came up with this little balance all by themselves out on our front steps and had fun weighing all sorts of things they found.Pack Night in September was on pockets and all the things that scouts fill them with. Each of the boys brought a collection to display. Here was Mark’s.
He did such an awesome job of being organized with what he wanted to tell everyone about his collection and had Ken help him type it up so it would be just right. I’m so proud of him.
The kids had a day off school and so we joined Ken for lunch at a little grassy area right around the block from his work. (Jessie went to the zoo with a friend.) After a tasty lunch the boys played catch and Abbie and I hung out and watched. The other day Mark and I got a real craving for pumpkin pie – so we made two! Abbie and Spencer were my helpers. And boy was it tasty! Here’s Abbie learning to crimp the edges of the crust.
And you all know why we really make pie, right? TO EAT IT FOR BREAKFAST!!! (that’s why we always have to make at least two.)
And here are some cute little non-wormy apples Abbie found from our tree and brought in for us. “Hey Mom, it’s almost a snowman!”

So many happy things to read about! I LOVE pie for breakfast. And I got something wonderful in my mailbox... too wonderful to say thank you for in a blog post so check your mailbox too. But you have to know that it made my whole day and I've smiled about it NONSTOP ever since. With all you have to do... it was beyond nice.
And you will be a great bishopric wife. :)
