With Becca and Rachel here to play we’ve enjoyed many games…not only playing them… but playing with them….
We also made a batch of homemade chalk. So easy and it works great. The hardest part is waiting for it to dry! This time we made pink, purple and blue. (Oh, and here is Mark with his very ouchy sunburn. He couldn’t wear a shirt for 2 1/2 days. Poor guy! It’s a good thing we heal.) This is our totally awesome rainbow cake. I originally got this idea from The Daily Digi, but here is the direct link for more info and inspiration (click here). It was so fun to work with Rachel making this cake for Megan’s birthday.
These are the little dragon flies Rachel made to decorate the cake. She even had the great idea of putting wiggly eyes on them (we warned everyone not to eat the eyes)! The only down-side to this cake project was the when we left to go to the party the car was so hot inside that the wings on the dragon flies started to melt!!! In all my brilliance, I forgot to take a picture of the cut cake, but it was just as cool as all those pictures on the instruction site. Note: we didn’t do yellow or red cake batter, just orange, green, blue and purple.
Here is Mark Sunday morning in a little nest he made for himself. He and Becca also made this cool Magnetix tower.
Abbie drawing a picture of her CareBear. What a great little artist. She and I had a bit of time later in the afternoon and we drew a couple of pictures together; it was so fun.
We took Rachel and Becca and had lunch with Ken at a park in Provo and Jessie and Abbie were pulling Mark down the slide. It was all part of their “King of the Slide” game.
Ken and I were trying to think of fun activities and decided that I could take the kids to the Bean Museum in Provo. When Becca heard this she said something like this in her teenage voice, “Oh this should be fun! I can’t wait to see huge piles of Lima Beans!” The name wasn’t quite so impressive when we explained that it was a guys last name. Anyways, she and Rachel and the kids had a blast. Here are a few pictures.

I'm going to have to try the "rainbow" cake! Looks like my kids would have a lot of fun with that!
