While my mom was here she made us this fun banner for Valentine’s Day. Banners are such a fun way to decorate and easy for those of us who feel decorating-impaired. We did this fun heart in Abbie’s hair.
Neil and Isaac always help send the kids off to school with many reminders they are loved. Hugs, and wishes for a great day and watching from the porch when it’s warm enough and shouting “I love you!” from wherever else they might be.
Randy stayed with us for a bit before we dropped him off at work; we played with play dough. Fun times.
That evening we got a call seeing if Mark and Jessie wanted to join some other kids from the ward who had some extra tickets for a taping of Studio C. After school Mark and Jessie had had a little tiff and were pretty frustrated at each other and I told them if they talked it out and were friends again I had a surprise for them. They were mildly interested in my surprise since I didn’t give them any details. I bugged them about it for a few minutes until Jessie asked something like, “Do we get to go see someone famous?” When I answered yes her excitement level soared….”Is it Jon Schmidt?” “No…” Then jokingly “Is is Studio C.” “Yes.” “WHAT?!”
That was enough motivation and all was well again and a good thing too because about three minutes later their ride was here. And they had a FABULOUS TIME!
That evening we had a BBQ at Scott’s house and Rachel was in charge of dessert. She brought a bunch of toppings and we made ice cream sundaes in Mason jars – so fun. (Not a great picture…but hey at least it let me remember what we did.)
When we got home Abbie still had to do her poster for the science fair….yep, another science fair project successfully completed at late o’clock. It was after 11:00 pm before Abbie got to bed and she was exhausted! Tuesday morning dawned bright and early. Jessie and Mark both took projects to school the a spring art fair. Mark was so excited they had a wood working category because he doesn’t consider himself an artist. Jessie took a quilled flower in a shadow box for the 3-D category.
I took the little kids to see Abbie at the science fair. It was so past nap time, so we didn’t stay and look at the other kids’ projects, just said hi to Abbie and then came back home for naps. Jessie was in heaven again when for Young Women’s they got to go tour BYU’s broadcasting studios! She got to see Studio C again rehearsing!!!….and the room where they do cooking shows, the dressing rooms, and the tech room where they see all the camera angles and play with the sound etc. She had a blast!
And her favorite thing…. her very own Studio C poster, signed by all the cast! It is now proudly displayed as the cover of her school binder and has received a few compliments at school.
