Mark is a great helper. He shoots siblings with Nerf guns whenever we ask. He shouts like a Wookie to scare off intruders. And he holds Baby Emma to help her go to sleep. See? He’s a great helper!
Isaac LOVES to play with the beads.
The YM went to the BYU heating plant for some career exploration. I was totally impressed. I can’t remember all the details, but they’ve got something like 3 coal-fired boilers and two natural gas boilers, but they only have to run one at a time to heat ALL the buildings on campus. Of course, when you’re burning $1 million per month in fuel to heat 900,000 pounds of water per hour to 400 degrees, I guess you can heat a lot of air. I really enjoyed the visit!
Emma started to smile at about five weeks, and it’s so dang cute!
Hey look, it’s Mr. Potato Isaac! He found the glasses from the Mr. Potato head toy and decided to wear them.
Jessie took this sunset photo off our back deck. So colorful!
Becca is learning to do digital scrapbooking and wanted to come down for a Photoshop lesson. Neil and Isaac love to “help,” so Rachel came too to entertain the little boys. She brought finger paints and everyone had a BLAST. Thanks Roo-Roo! You’re awesome.
When taking a teenager to a doctor appointment and bringing three small children along, you have to do something to entertain said small ones. What could be better than a cow sticker on your forehead to pass the time? (Mark ended up having a strep infection in his lymph nodes, explaining the unwelcome lumps in his throat. We’re a little sensitive to those things in our family!) “I don’t need a nap, Mommy! I’m not tired!””
While we were gone, Jessie made homemade bubble solution for the little boys to play with. Neil wanted to blow bubbles; Isaac just wanted to play in it. Celebrating a potty-training milestone!
We have a mountain of coupons for freebies from local restaurants. The kids get them from school as a reward for reading… or showing up on time… or not hiding live lizards in their teacher’s desk… or remembering to put their shoes on the correct feet… It’s pretty rigorous. We decided to use some of them to celebrate the last day of February.
No, this is not dyeing Easter Eggs. This is what happens when Rachel doesn’t come down to supervise during a Photoshop lesson. This time while Julie and Becca were working on Photoshop, Spencer decided to follow the instructions on the back of the food coloring box to make every conceivable color combination. Apricot; teal; fuchsia; true black; avocado green; old meatloaf…
