The Grotto

While some went DI shopping the rest of us meet my cousins at a little water park up in SLC.  We had some lunch and then covered the kids in sunscreen.  It was fun to talk with cousins while the kids ran around.  Man there are a lot of us!DSC_0273I love this fun little frog.  It spits enough water to get wet, but not too much for Neil to be scared off.Starred Photos92The boys thought they were too big to play in the water toys, but not too big to make faces at the camera. ;-)Starred Photos93Caught a sweet smile from Isaac.IMG_0856One of the last things we did while my family was out was hike The Grotto trail in Payson Canyon.  I had never been there before, but my kids hiked it with Grandpa while I was in the hospital when Neil was born.  It’s a really nice trail (and just the right length for kids), with log bridges to cross and water to play in at the end.  I mean what could be better than that?DSC_0283Heather picked a four leaf cover right as we started and I think that was the most impressive thing that Mark had ever seen.  He just couldn’t imagine how she did it.  Then as we continued hiking she found another one.  So we put them both in Mark’s hat for safe keeping.  It Heather’s secret talent!Starred Photos97Crossing a bridge.DSCN0290After we got to the waterfall the bigger kids hiked around up to the source.DSCN0300

DSCN0311Isaac got fed and then his diaper leaked all over….ewww!  It’s a good thing daddy was with us to provide an extra pair of hands.DSC_0320Alexander LOVED the water!!DSC_0334Poor Abbie slid down the hill on the way back from the top and banged her knee up pretty bad.  That was stinky.  But she was pretty brave.Starred Photos96Neil got to ride in Grandma’s car on the way home with daddy and he was SO excited.IMG_0785And here’s the cute baby hiker.Starred Photos98Grandpa finished up this AWESOME music stand for us.  There is a slot on the top shelf for each kids to put their music so it doesn’t get lost or mixed up.  The really fun part is the wood for it came from the tree that was in the front of my house growing up.  My parents cut it down a couple of years ago and kept the wood.  So there’s a fun family tidbit.DSCN0345Mark found “Firebolt” on YouTube and everyone crowded around to listen to it.  Well some crowded around and others…..DSC_0340….well others they acted it out for us.  First Becca, then Abbie joined in….DSC_0342

DSC_0345….and Neil didn’t want to be left out either.  (check out the shoes he nabbed from someone).DSC_0346

DSC_0348Had some creative driveway decorators.IMG_0791And lastly we took a walk to the park for a game of frisbee after dinner.  Isaac loves walks and puts his feet up on the tray soon after you strap him in.  It’s so cute!IMG_0793

Starred Photos95I love this picture.  Walking back home the sprinklers at the cemetery turned on and Heather’s kids thought of the perfect umbrellas….IMG_0822David and Lisa didn’t make it to the park.  We meet them on our walk back, but we got a family picture before everyone left for home.  Man Ken, you are so tall!! :-)DSC_0357One last hold before bedtime.DSC_0359And one last try to get out of having to go to bed.DSC_0360
