Making Limericks for dinner

One of Mark’s spelling words this week is limerick.  So I had him look it up and write one for me and then we tried writing some at dinner.  Here is one Ken wrote oh so long ago.

There once was a parrot named Hank.

Who said that his birdie cage stank.

He wailed and moaned;

wouldn’t leave us alone -

So now he lives in the fish tank.

We got this one written before some sort of chasing game began and the table was abandoned.

There once was a student named Mark

Who liked to run at the park.

He didn’t like spelling

so he sent it repelling

And now he glows in the dark.

Our last one didn’t get a final line so we are taking suggestions in the comments and we’ll send a prize to the winner.

There once was a bird named What.

Who always flew right at my gut.

He hit me straight on

And then he was gone.
