Thanksgiving etc.

Jessie worked on this quilled necklace for a couple of days, plumeria flowers.

One of Jessie’s favorite things to fix is Betty Crocker Wild Blueberry Muffins.  We get to enjoy them frequently on Sundays.DSC_0006 Looking for a bit of entertainment on a Sunday evening while we fixed dinner we copied Grandma’s brilliant idea from years ago when she watched Abbie and Spencer while we were in Washington DC.  We dumped noodles into bowls and handed out measuring cups.  Fun for hours is what I call this.

IMG_2012 The little boys and I meet Rachel after work at the BYU creamery for lunch.  Avocado burgers….yummy!  (Oh, and they have the best pebbled ice!!!  Don’t for get a cup to go.)  I think Neil wouldn’t even touch the burger and just ate fries….I can’t remember exactly, but that sounds like him.2013_11_25At our house you can only have one ear bud in unless you have permission to ignore everyone and work on homework.  Isaac loves to be on the receiving end of that second ear bud.IMG_3819 DSC_0014-001

On Thanksgiving one of the things we were in charge of a veggie tray.  While we worked Abbie read to us from the book Candy Bomber.  It’s about a soldier in WWII that dropped candy out of planes for the kids after the war.  What an amazing guy.  Thanks Abbie!

2013_11_28 Let the feast begin!2013_11_281 After a heavenly dinner the big kids played games with Dad and Grandma while Neil and I played Hungry Hippos, one of his favorites at Grandma’s house, and put together a puzzle.  What a fabulous day!2013_11_282 Before we left for home Grandma showed us the homemade chimes she had made for Primary singing time.  The kids had a blast playing with them.

DSC_0007-001 Isaac found a new love….”oh dee.”  He and Neil take turns with dad, grandpa and anyone else who wants a leg workout.DSC_0014 Ken finally got to help us decorate for Christmas.  Yea for helping with dad.  He and Mark put lights up on the bush out in front, and then he helped the girls string the lights on the tree.  While we were decorating Jessie entertained us by wearing the extra stockings.  Then of course the little boys joined in not wanting to be left out of the fun.  And we all helped put the decorations on the tree.2013_11_29 One of Ken’s friends invited us to the Christmas Light parade in Spanish Fork.  It was a fun thing to go see – once.  A few of the cool things we saw were a man on a bicycle that had a Christmas tree “costume” around him and the bike and he drove up and down the sides of the road a little bit silly.  And there were some pretty cool lights, like the ones below.  And then there were trucks with ads on them and a string of lights across the front….annoying… and the three to five minutes between each float wasn’t so impressive, but we did see the bicycle tree guy a couple of times while we were waiting and the kids really thought he was fun.  The fireworks on the train were pretty impressive too.  Lucky for us it was a little chilly, not cold, and now if anyone asks we can say we’ve been.

2013_11_291 Neil took some pictures for us…IMG_3831 I love little kids and nativities.  Neil wanted to make sure everyone could see baby Jesus.IMG_2015

An up-do for something.

DSC_0022 We’ve only gotten three or four snow storms this year.  So sad.  So when the snow came the kids were REALLY excited to go play in it.  Have you ever noticed how messy snow play is?DSC_0002
