Neil is getting so big, and he loves to be a helper. He also loves FHE on Monday nights announced “I make a lesson for you!” We sure love him!
In addition to being a great chair to prepare FHE lessons, the rocker is also a good place to sit upside down at 11:30 pm while singing songs and popping bubble wrap.
He wasn’t alone in the silliness. Jessie was still doing homework…
I think Abbie was the only one sleeping!
On Veterans Day Ken spent the morning hauling firewood from a house in Lehi where an enormous mulberry tree had been cut down. Mulberry is lots heavier than aspen! We rented a splitter with our neighbor. It was amazing to watch!
The kids loved helping and were very careful to keep their fingers out of the way!
Aren’t the icicles beautiful? Too bad the only way to enjoy this view is to stand IN the bathtub and crane your neck to look out the window! I think they’re pretty dangerous since they’re 30 feet off the ground! I wouldn’t want to be under them when they decide to let go!
Sad Neil: I want to take a picture.
Happy Neil: Cheese! (Or is that peanut butter on his smile?)
The kids new favorite activity is watching Piano Guys videos on the iPad. Since the screen isn’t really big, they have to all crowd around. Small price to pay!
No Mom, I’m not very hungry. This sleeve is delicious!
Family game night. It’s after bedtime when this was taken, but everyone was still happy happy happy!
On a cold winter day, the best place in our house is right in front of the wood burning stove. It is a great spot to snuggle up and read, even if you have to snuggle up with a half-dozen people while sharing the same book!
Rub-a-dub-dub, three men in the tub. Mark loves to spend time with the little boys and is always happy to help out.
Abbie is always a good helper to take care of Isaac while the adults need to something else. Good thing she loves her brothers!
Abbie, Mark and I went shoe shopping. This beautiful double rainbow greeted us as we came out of the mall. It was the brightest, most spectacular double rainbow I’ve ever seen. All the way home we were trying to find the end of it, but it kept moving as we thought we should be getting closer. Man, we’re NEVER going to get that pot of gold!
This is another FHE lesson that was going MOSTLY well. Spencer is a bit frustrated that Neil is wearing his dragon sunglasses. But you can’t tell that from the picture, can you?
I got this way cute idea for patching jeans from super-scrappy-doodle-site.com. (Can you tell Ken’s helping type?) Anyway, don’t you think this is way cooler than a boring blue patch over your worn out jeans? We made a pair for Abbie and one for Spencer. They are now the favorite pants!
Neil loves hats almost as much as he likes shoes, especially if it’s Rachel’s! Would you eat lasagna prepared by this chef?
Jessie’s school had a movie day for all the people who were caught up on their homework and met some grade standard. Jessie didn’t want to see any of the movies, so she stayed home and we played all day! First we played Carcassonne, and built an enormous city.
Then we started working on a clothes pin wreath to hang up for Christmas before getting Bajio for lunch.
Ever since I was in the hospital when Isaac was born, I have had a new craving for cream of wheat. It’s especially good with cream and brown sugar. Way better than the salt-less lukewarm cream of rubber that they serve in the hospital. (Stay away Goldilocks! It’s ALL just right.)
More Piano Guys to celebrate Thanksgiving vacation.
We celebrated Thanksgiving Mexican style with Grandma Jennie on the day before Thanksgiving.
Abbie has been growing her hair out for over a year. We were going to get it cut for her birthday, but it took another six weeks. She was so excited!
Pie night at Brent and Jill’s. We haven’t had as much as we want, but we’ve had more than we should have. (Spencer suffers from the same problem his Dad does: if the TV is on – especially if it’s a BYU sporting event – he’s laser-focused on it.)
