Our initial move date was the weekend before Jessie’s birthday, but the sellers were still trying to work our housing arrangements, so it got pushed off a week. Rachel went and got donuts to celebrate Jessie’s birthday. What an awesome aunt. We even still knew where some candles were and Jessie blew out candles and opened presents before we started loading up our van to take over more boxes.
Rachel was the sweetest worker though all the moving – driving the van, loading and unloading, packing and helping with Isaac. A real life saver. And every hard workers deserves a snooze with the baby….don’t you think?
Friends from the ward came to help on Saturday. We were so blessed to have so many kind and helpful friends. Some of them even stayed at the new house and helped put the bunk beds back together. And some stayed at the old house and cleaned and cleaned. It was really amazing.
We celebrated Jessie and Grandma’s birthday at Scott and Steph’s home.
While we were there Jessie and Megan found an old wig and poor Isaac was the designated model.
Scott’s family came over to see the house the next week and Mark was dying to show Jennie how to play Stratego. We also played around with the arrangement of the couches in the living room. (and incase you are wondering why only one window has a curtain, it’s because the sellers had a china cabinet totally covering up the other window…that’s still on the list of things to fix.)
Mark was a super box-breaker-downer. (And happy that he got to use his pocket knife.)
Man we have a lot of stuff…. here’s the kitchen…The front room ….
and the downstairs. Most of this is food storage.
Scott and Ken adjusted some of the shelves in the food storage room and it didn’t even end up being and all day project :-)!
We celebrated Grandma Jennie’s birthday at Joe Vera’s. It was fun to get together and nobody had to do the dishes ;-)!
My cousin from Missouri came and visited with her cute kids on Neil’s birthday and her sweet husband helped Ken finish moving the rest of the food storage. We enjoyed chatting and lunch and watching her boy try and blow up balloons. (And we found our new picture taking spot….I’m sure you’ll be seeing many more front porch shots.)
Rachel came down on Neil’s birthday and brought him some new jammies and some Avenger socks. We also opened a present from my parents – a Noah’s ark thing for Sunday. Neil was so happy “it’s my birthday!” He just loves the Happy Birthday song and we sing it many times a day.
