Mark’s last soccer game was on Spencer’s birthday. He, Spencer, didn’t want a cake this year, instead he wanted doughnuts. So after the game we rode down to Macey’s and each picked out two doughnuts for the celebration.Ken picked out this talking piggy bank for Spencer because he just loves counting his money and putting it in “special” places where is gets lost for a couple of days. He was totally thrilled.
Earlier in the day he and Neil and I went out to lunch and got frosties. Yummy. It was a fun treat for us, because we almost never go out to eat without the family, well, even with the family we almost never go out to eat.
Then we stopped by daddy’s work after getting a couple of fall outfits for Neil. After Ken’s remodel job at the Credit Union he had Mark’s reflection picture from two years ago printed and framed along with some awesome pictures his uncle sent to him. Here’s Mark’s picture.
Sometimes I find the funniest pictures when I download my pictures from the camera to the computer….
At the elementary school they had a fitness week and the kids could earn tickets at recess for running/walking a certain distance. The parents were invited to come participate with their kids and earn tickets for them too. The classes with the most tickets won extra balls, jump ropes, etc for their rooms. The kids with the most tickets also got to pick some prizes. Since we were already walking in the mornings we decided to go walk with the kids instead. Jessie was helping out with hall monitoring with student council, so she didn’t get to do it and Mark did a few laps with us, but was more interested in playing football with his friends. Abbie however was gun-ho and loved running back and forth, from the fence to the playground. It was so fun to be there with her, and Spencer couldn’t have been happier, except that he couldn’t stay when recess was over.
Here’s a cute Neil picture before a bath. He really hates baths, just like Spencer did. But recently discovered his fist and it’s always in his mouth.
We had a fun family party for Spencer too. A baked potato and salad bar in the backyard under the carport that we still hadn’t moved back onto the driveway. We made more cute hippos too.
Playing with birthday gifts…. (and elephant that blows butterflies out its trunk – our primary song leader brought one of these for singing time and Spence has wanted one ever since.)
I found this cool rocket launcher in the Family Fun magazine and David picked up the parts for it. The first few times it didn’t go very far…but then…do you see the the shed in the neighbor’s back yard in the previous picture? We got one stuck on it’s roof and we were almost at our driveway when it was launched.
Spencer, Neil and I went down to see the new park the city put in. It is really nice. At first Spencer only put his hand in the water fountains at the splash pool, but you know kids and water….

Do you like my broccoli antlers?
Jessie, I like your broccoli antlers!
That picture of Spencer laying on the cement after getting wet made me laugh! I'm enjoying catching up with your summer through your posts :)
I love the SMILE on Spencer face. Family are great.
That was neat to blow up Mark's picture for Ken's office wall.
Jessie's faces always crack me up.
