Abbie’s smile keeps changing! With the loss of her other front tooth it’s quite easy to stick her tongue out without even opening her mouth.
For her birthday, she and Grandma picked out this cute fabric together and Grandma sewed her a new dress. The finished product had only one tiny problem… it was really short. So Grandma took it back and worked her magic and brought back this master piece (with the added red and black ruffles at the bottom). She and I were in the backyard taking a picture of her new dress when the neighbor’s kitten, O.B., suddenly pounced on her arm. She was a little surprised with his sudden appearance.
Spencer has been eyeing Mark’s lego creations and while the kids are at school he tells me terrific stories with them. You can still see his black eye in this picture.
Spencer, Abbie and I thought the front window could use a little decorating. We made this cute pumpkins together before lunch.
O.B. almost lives at our house sometimes. He even stands at the front and back doors, depending on if we are in the living room or the kitchen and whines and whines like his paw is stuck in the door until the kids run to check on him. Then he darts inside. He and Spencer get along great. I’m sure he’ll miss him when our neighbors move.
The school has a fundraising carnival in the fall and we got to go this year. Mark, Abbie and Ken climbed the rock wall while Jessie and Spencer and I played on blowup toys and got cotton candy.
All the rock climbers made it to the top and dinged the bell (which sounded like a car alarm to me). When Ken was climbing a bunch of kids at the bottom thought he was one of their favorite teachers and were chanting, “GO, Mr. Scoubes” at him while Mark, at the bottom, was trying to convince them that it was really his dad. Quite funny!!
We had our real first snow that stuck for a few hours. These guys were glad I had gotten out a few of the winter clothes. Poor Mark is the last one still wearing summer clothes…I better get on that…
The Reflections Assembly was last week and Jessie got an honorable mention for her pillow and Mark won 1st place for his flag pictures. Needless to say he was on cloud 9! They told us the wrong time for the start of the assembly so I missed seeing Mark go up, but when they called Jessie’s name I got this picture that I just love!! It’s kind of neat that last year Jessie was the one who placed and Mark was honorable mention and this year it was just opposite.
Since they told us the wrong time Ken walked in after driving down from work just as the kids were going back to class, so we got a family picture and then he came home and ate lunch with Spencer and I before going back to work.
The school Halloween parade for the kids was around the gym this year due to the weather. Here is our little piggy, Indian and mime. The last big thing that happened in October was that Ken and the girls had a Daddy Daughter Date with Scott and his girls. They went down to Scofield to the cabin there. First on the list was a little cookie decorating.
Next they played hide-and-seek and then sardines. The fun part was when you found someone you took their picture….
They had one of Jessie’s favorite dinners, Rice with Sausage and Beans, played games, read books, and watched Aladdin.
For breakfast Ken made Apple Waffles and scrambled eggs. They had a great time!
