Cherries and Worms

Some friends let us some pick cherries at their house. Unfortunately they hadn't been sprayed and well I can't even stand a little extra protein. But these are my super helpers. Ken went to help load a moving truck and the kids washed all the cherries for us (service with a smile). The floor didn't end up with too much on it, but I had mopped that morning. Isn't that how projects usually turn out -- to happen on the day you mop the floor.

After Ken got home we pajama'd everyone and Ken read them more of the Secret Garden, except for Mark. He stayed and helped pit every last cherry. He is always happy to help. (We did end up throwing about a third of the cherries we picked to the chickens because they actually enjoyed the bugs in them. And the rest we froze for a perfect cold summer treat.)
